Chance McGregor is known as one of the toughest werewolves around. As the Dominion Creek Pack Guardian it’s his job to protect the pack and its laws. Even if that requires him to find his true mate or mate with someone of the council’s choosing. With the Mating Ceremony fast approaching – and Chance a very unwilling participant – he has more on his mind than pack safety. It’s enough to make even the baddest werewolf whine like a puppy.
SHE’S IN CONTROL Stephanie Taylor is finally making her way in the world. She’s out of a bad marriage, starting a business with her best friend in a great new town, and in control of her stable – if not sometimes boring – life. She can handle boring and she doesn’t need a man to tell her what’s best for her anymore. WHAT’S A WOLF TO DO? When Chance runs into Stephanie on the street, he realizes that he found his woman. The problem is she’s a human. Not a problem for him though. Now all he has to do is convince her that they are meant to be together forever; talk the ever-meddling pack council into allowing the mating; and protect his pack from a group of rogue wolves wreaking havoc across the state. With their hearts, and lives, on the line Chance and Stephanie will do the only thing they can…
Our Interview with the author:)
Do you believe in Fate and Destiny?
Yes, I do. In my written worlds one’s Fate isn’t very
flexible; it’s set when you were born and doesn’t change with growth. But in reality, even though I still think
Fate plays a role in our lives, I don’t think destiny is as set in stone as it
is in my books. I believe there is a
path you are put on when you’re born.
Along the way, you make decisions and your destiny can change depending
on your choices and reactions to those decisions. The choices we make in our lives are what
makes them full and allows our continual growth.
What book or books are you currently reading?
The list is long! If I have any downtime, it’s spent reading.
My Nook library is full, with about 500 books I’ve read already. And I’ve got another 600 on my wish list! Currently I’m reading a romance by Sharon and
Tom Curtis called “Lightning That Lingers”, and waiting in the wings is
“Western Ties” by Mari Carr and Jayne Rylon, and “Lover Avenged” by J.R.
Ward. I love all kinds of romance: contemporary, cowboys, paranormal, erotic. If there’s a boy, a girl, a good story, and some
good lovin’ it’s a very real chance I’ll love it!
T:I love J.R Ward books! I spent an entire month of summer reading ALL that were available at the library :)

What type of research do you do to prepare for your
books/plot?
I don’t do a lot of
research. Most of my storylines tend to
write themselves without a lot of encouragement – not always a good thing, mind
you! But what I do research is names of
characters, places, and physical attributes of my characters. For instance, I did a lot of research for the
names in “A Chance of Fate”. Most of the
surnames, and some of the first names, are Gaelic or Scottish. Since the founders of the pack came from
Scotland, I wanted to make sure the names were authentic. Another example of my research…there’s a
local pub in my town that I took pictures of.
When I described Kelly’s Bar, it was this pub that I wanted readers to
see. Plus, I think all of
my reading is a part of my research. And
that’s not just an excuse I give my husband to buy more books! By reading so much, I know what’s out there
on the market, I know what people are reading, and I know what I enjoy
reading. Being an avid reader helps me
be a better writer.
As a teacher I always try to give advice that students
can take with them for life. Who was your favorite teacher and what memory did you
take for life?
That’s a tough
one! I had a lot of wonderful teachers
and they all taught me things I still take with me, whether it’s practical
knowledge or abstract knowledge. However,
my first drama teacher, Ken Eaton, taught us some important lessons I find very
useful today. Mr. Eaton taught us that
creativity was a good thing, not worthless.
I also found some self-confidence in his class because I had to get up
on a stage in front of an audience of my peers and act. It was tough to put myself out there. I just knew they would hate my acting and
they would laugh at me. In the end, I
survived (although there were moments I didn’t think I would) and found out
it’s not so bad opening up in front of people.
That is one of the hardest lessons to learn, and even today I have a
hard time remembering it. But if not for
Mr. Eaton, drama class, and gaining a little confidence in my abilities, I’m
not sure I could have found the courage to realize one of my dreams…to write
and publish my own novel.
