Tree Classics!

Tree Classics - Christmas Giveaway!
First, I honestly was a little skeptical about their product Scentsicles.  As any normal person would ... I took them to my classroom to see if it would battle the smell of 6th grade teenagers and a proximity of the middle school locker room.

They did! I tried it with the Pine Scentsicles, first starting with one individual stick and putting it on my desk in my pencil cup. Throughout the day students would ask where the tree smell was coming from - success! I put the Snowberry Wreath Scentsicles on our tree downstairs (our 3rd or 4th generation hand me down). It does make the entire room smell amazing! You will love any scent that you buy, trust me! These products will definitely make a permanent  place on my Christmas tree year after year.  I am browsing their site at this moment and looking for a Christmas tree for our new home - You never know when that sale price will happen!  I really like the Grand Fir.  It has a tip count of 5526 for the 7 1/2 foot height.  I want one that has enough depth and tips that it does not look fake and I can't "see through" to the other side - maybe this is the one!

OZ Naturals

Today was the 1st day I tried it, but so far I like it! I spoke before about a product that was called FootJuice and loved it. These two product both have witch hazel in them. My Polish Grandma would always have me wipe my face with witch hazel or apple cider vinegar. I may be biased but anything with witch hazel intrigues me! I'll keep everyone posted on how well this works! Go to Amazon and check out the reviews for OZ Naturals Toner.  It is the 4th step in the process of products from them, but my only step because I only have the toner. It says 7 days to see a noticeable difference... Challenge accepted!

Travel and Packing Needs --> GoToob

The award-winning and patented GoToob is made from soft yet rugged silicone, so it's easy to squeeze, and it dispenses the product right away. A special, "no-drip" valve helps the cap stay clean.

GoToob Three-PackA large opening means it's easy to fill and clean your GoToob. The small 1.25 fl. oz. size slips easily into pockets, bags, purses, and other tight spots. The medium 2 fl. oz. size features a handy suction cup that can briefly attach to walls for moments when you need your hands free. Interview with Ann, from Always There Designs
"As an engaged bride-to-be, I understand what it is like to try to find beautiful items for myself and my wedding without spending a fortune.  I create all of my jewelry to be affordable so everyone can enjoy it."
  • Favorite type of jewelry to make:  Stamped jewelry.  It is so cathartic to be able to come home after a long day and be able to sit down with a hammer and make something beautiful.  There is something special about being able to put so much of myself into a piece of jewelry.  I literally start with a piece of metal and, by the time I'm done stamping, oxidizing, and polishing, I have made that piece of metal into a work of art.  And each piece is different.  There will never be two that are exactly the same.
  • Getting started:  I have always been a creative person.  My mom is a professional photographer so I guess it runs in the family.  I've tried every type of craft out there, from sewing to scrap booking to pottery.  I always really enjoyed making jewelry.  I officially started doing stamped jewelry about a year ago when went to buy a piece myself and all I could find was sterling silver.  I knew that if I didn't want to pay that much, other people didn't want to as well.  So I set out to start making affordable versions myself and fell in love with it.  I played with several metals until I came upon aluminum and I've never looked back.  I prefer it over sterling any day and it really makes it affordable so everyone can enjoy stamped jewelry.
  • College:  I actually haven't graduated yet!  I will be finishing up the last of my pre-med/human biology degree next year.  I had planned on going directly to PA (physician assistant) school after graduation but now I'm holding off indefinitely on that so I can continue with my jewelry.  I have found something I really enjoy doing with the jewelry and I can see myself doing it for years to come.
----
When I received my necklace I was so excited that it was a pearl - I love pearls!  Ann was so nice to talk to and discuss options, which is important to many brides or brides-to-be! One reason I instantly was drawn to her shop was the prices.  As she stated in her interview, she knows what money is like when you are planning a wedding and trying to actually "save" some for when life really begins. Yes that is me in my cute necklace!  Love it!  She "hammer stamped" Bride and added a cute Swarovski pearl to it.  Lovely! She makes ones that say 'Engaged', but 'Bride' does last longer ;)

Ann may give you something extra special at  Always There Designs if you mention that SAHM&TW(2b) sent you!

Risking Eternity

After a childhood spent watching her psychic mother eke out a living reading tarot cards in their shabby New Orleans apartment, Hayden Farrell isn't taken in by much. As far as she's concerned, the only thing extraordinary about this world is people's willingness to put their faith in things that don't exist. But when teen-age prostitutes start turning up dead, the Boston homicide detective is forced to do something she hasn't done since she fled Louisiana. To catch the killer she's got to trust a stranger whose version of reality threatens to destroy her own.

Valentin Grigorievich has wanted revenge since London's most notorious serial killer betrayed him more than a century earlier. To get it, he needs Hayden's help--and maybe her life as well. While he may be immune to her good looks he finds it increasingly difficult to resist the dark connection that binds them. Will the vampire's plan give him the satisfaction he craves or rob him of his soul mate?

This paranormal suspense novella is the first book in the Timeshifters series!

Buyer Beware!

Have any of the brides began looking for matching bands to go with their engagement rings? Are you going to be engaged and found rings you love? Be sure YOU tell your future fiance to research it ENDLESSLY before a decision is made.  I am in the situation now that the only band to match my ring has to be custom made, despite what my future hubbster was told when he purchased it.  Why would someone just say there is a bad that matches it - no worries to a guy who is already nervous about buying a ring, especially if it is already costing a good chunk of money?  So as a reminded - check what is being told because you do not want to end up being in a spot where you have to spend a ton more money on getting a band custom made to actually go with your ring although the sales associate said there was one to match it. As you all now I am from the Pittsburgh/Morgantown area and I do not yet want to say the store we are having a problem with until  find out what they are going to do on their end.  Boo....

JazzyWear!

There are quite a few things girls love -
 Diamonds, perfume, jewelry, and shoes.

Founded in the year 2008 in Athens, Ohio, JazzyWear is an online shoe boutique that features stylish flats, pumps and boots for women. All shoes are offered in audacious colors and styles!

If any of you are living in the Cali area, please pay attention:  JazzyWear does SHOE PARTIES!  Yes, you heard me correctly- no more candle/food/31/etc parties.  This is amazing ... now if we only lived on the West Coast.  E-mail Jazzy at  jazzywear@gmail.com for more info on how to do this!

We picked this super cute pair of sandals to review.  They are called the  Mini Turquoise Hawaiian Sandal and were a hit.  For those of you who have been following the blog my wedding colors have changed just like the weather in this town - from one extreme to another. Finally it has been decided that it is going to be navy, shades of pinks and gold/silver- sometimes you have to Pinterest hours to figure it out.  Anyway, the blues fit perfectly with what  I wanted.

To begin with they were delivered fast!  I loved the little paper they were wrapped in when delivered - kind of like a surprise present inside that little box!

Another thing I loved is there are matching adult/children shoes!  I can just imagine the cute pictures that can be done with bridesmaids and flower girls during the reception.  Everyone kicks their heels off for flips (besides me because I am short) during the reception, so they should look cute while dancing the night away!  Plus, they are a steal - $12/$15.

If you are looking for a unique pair of sandals or heels, check out her site.  But more importantly ... they make great presents!

Tiny Prints

Besides bridal shower invitations and wedding invitations one main event keeps happening in our lives - babies!  When Britt was having her shower she sent out adorable invites and they matched her theme! I love when everything goes together, such as the decorations invitations, colors, and the gifts.

A great company I had the privilege to work with is Tiny Prints. Their invitations and announcements are adorable! Most of the invitations that I love include bright colors and are easy to coordinate with.  The unique invites are a wonderful surprise to the guest, especially the ones I picked out!

Birth announcements are another element that I love getting in the mail.  People usually send ones out from the hospital because they get packages, but if you or someone you know is going to have a baby soon think of Tiny Prints!  There were so many unique and cute ideas that it was hard to pull a few to show everyone.   Tiny Prints has the traditional look people often love as well as the option to have 5+ photos on your announcement.

Quick Giveaway: Tiny Prints wants to give a reader $50 to use on their site!  If you want to enter do the following things:

Saving Memories Forever App and Website

In a few weeks, we are moving around 2,000 miles away!  I have been planning the trip for weeks now thought I had nothing left to worry about.  Then I realized that my daughter is going to have to make a huge adjustment soon.  She loves every member of our family and waits(not so patiently) for our monthly trips to her MeMaw's.

Saving Memories Forever is an app and website that lets you save all the memories of your loved ones. When I first tried the new app for my phone, I was excited to see how the whole process would work.    It's really a simple app to use and download! All you need to begin is add a storyteller.  You have the option to add pictures and other personal identifying info.  Next, choose the category of the memory you are trying to preserve.  The categories include everything from childhood facts and memories to jokes and philosophies.  After you choose the memory or answer chosen, all you have to do is record and upload your memory. Now that it's uploaded, you can log into your account on the website.  Here you can view, hear, add pictures to, tag and share all your memories.

The app and website service have a free and paid subscription.  The paid subscription gives you unlimited use of the service for only $3.99 a month.  The app is free and available for both iPhones and Androids.  If you aren't near a relative to interview, you can do the interview over the phone or Skype.  This makes it easy to share stories even when you can't be near your family members.

What I loved:
Easy to use
Great way to save some memories for my daughter
App is free and free subscription option

What I didn't love:
Home screen of app did not fit my screen correctly

We are moving right after Easter. I plan on passing my phone around to collect everyone's memories after Easter dinner.  This is a great way to hear your loved ones favorite memories in their own voice!

I participated in a campaign on behalf of AdvertiseWithBloggers.com for Saving Memories Forever. A free trial and promotional items have been provided in exchange for my review.  Regardless all opinions are my own.

Carefree Crafts Giveaway

This year for Christmas, my daughter was so excited to get a box of crafts or as she calls them projects.  It was one of the very first things she wanted to play with on Christmas morning.  However, when we sat down to do some of these, I was really disappointed.  Every single one made a huge mess or was too difficult for her little three year old hands to do.  She is one of those kids that hates being messy so we tossed the whole box of crafts without completing a single one.  I just wish there were fun crafts for kids that was age appropriate that didn't make a huge mess!

Carefree Crafts offers just that!  They offer prepackaged craft kids that are sent out based on your child age.    Since they are prepackaged, there is no guess work in which pieces go with each craft.  Each craft kit is based on an upcoming season or holiday and includes five different crafts.  My daughter is so into crafts that we decorate our house for every holiday so this is perfect for us! I was able to try their Valentine's Day craft kit with my little one.  This kit included:
  1. Valentine's Mailbox
  2. Ladybug Tic-Tac-Toe Game
  3. Monster Sticker Sheet
  4. Valentine's Train Card
  5. Puppy Puppet
I showed my daughter all the projects and she instantly wanted to do them all.  So we set up her little table and got to work!
We started with the mailbox.  This was by far her favorite one and she is actually playing with it right now.  All of the decorations had a sticky back on them so it was really easy to do.  The only piece that needed glue was the knob on the front.  It even comes with little letters and envelopes.  The mailbox itself was surprisingly sturdy for it being a children's craft.
Next up was the train valentine for my niece. My daughter was able to make this one all by herself!  She even keeps it in her mailbox to "send" it to her cousin.
We made the tic-tac-toe board next.  This is the only project we had a little problem while making it.  She had a hard time waiting for the glue to dry on the front so we could add the legs and antennas on.  I finished making this during nap time so we could still play the game.
We made the puppet next.  She had a good time adding on the heart foam stickers.  It was only later that we realized the we put the head on the wrong way!  She really didn't mind and still played with it anyway.

Lastly, she made her own Valentine's Day monster.  This one was also one of her favorites.  She was able to do this all by herself and kept changing all the stickers around to make new monsters.

Overall, I would highly recommend these kits!  There were more than enough parts to create each craft. I loved that there was minimal glue needed because there was little mess to clean up!  Every craft was truly age appropriate and was easy for my little one to use.

You can purchase individual kits or buy a subscription.  Right now you can order their Easter/St. Patrick's Day kit for only $7.95 including free shipping!  Know that you'll love it? They are also offering 50% off the first month of a recurring subscription.  Use coupon code: SAVE50 to get this great deal!

Campbell's Skillet Sauces make dinner easy!

Lately, my husband has been working really late every night. I usually try to make dinner so it's ready right when he gets home.  One day last week, he surprised me by coming home hours earlier than normal.  The only problem was that he was starving and I  hadn't even begun to start making dinner yet.  Earlier in the week I had received some of Campbell's Skillet Sauces so I decided to give them a shot! I had some chicken defrosted for my original dinner plans and we always have rice so I had everything I needed!

Campbell's Skillet Sauces come in six different varieties including:
~Creamy Chipotle with Roasted Corn & Black Beans
~Marsala with Mushrooms & Garlic
~Thai Green Curry with Lemongrass & Basil
~Toasted Sesame with Garlic & Ginger
~Fire Roasted Tomato with Red Bell Peppers & Chiles
~Scampi with White Wine & Garlic
We both really wanted rice so we chose to make the Creamy Chipotle with Roasted Corn & Black Beans.   Let me start off by saying that this is truly one of the easiest dinners I have ever made.  I have a rice cooker so as the rice cooked, I browned up some bite sized chicken pieces.   When the chicken is done, add in the skillet sauce and cook for five minutes.  I only used half the amount of chicken the package says to use because I am not a huge meat eater anymore.  I just poured the chicken and sauce over the cooked rice and dinner was done!  I have never made anything like this before and was a little nervous.  For some reason I always think of pre-made sauces as really salty.  The creamy chipotle was exactly as sounds, super creamy with a chipotle kick. Very tasty!  I thought that the rice to sauce ratio was perfect.  I would absolutely buy this again and am looking forward to trying the other kinds.  We are having the Toasted Sesame with Garlic & Ginger tonight!

{2012 Holiday Gift Guide}TolietTree Fogless Shower Mirror

My husband has a thick beard.  I love it but I hate when it comes time for him to shave.  Every time he does, I am reminded on our differing definitions of clean.  I began begging him to please shave in the shower.  He was afraid that if he couldn't see that he would cut himself. I can't really blame him for that but I did wish we had a better solution.  Then I remembered that ToiletTree has shower mirrors!

I have never used a shower mirror and was mostly exited that my husband could use it to shave.  The mirror I received was their Fogless Shower Mirror with Squeegee  and it comes with a travel bag.  This is great for people who, like my husband, travel often for work. The mirror has suction cups on the back so it is fairly easy to put up in your shower.  Behind the mirror, there is a small reservoir that you fill with hot water.  That activates the fogless feature of the mirror.  The mirror also has a built in squeegee.  This is great because you can remove any water splashes without smearing the mirror with your hand or wash cloth.

I wasn't expecting to like this mirror as much as I did.  I use it every day while I wash my hair and face.  I have been cutting an extra five minutes off my bathing time by using my face wash in the shower.  My husband said that he really likes using the mirror to trim up his neck.  The steam from the shower really helps him get a great shave.

My October Starbox!

Last week, I received my one of my favorite things, my October Starbox!  My monthly box is always exciting to get because I know that I will love everything inside.  Starbox is a monthly beauty box that includes three to four full-sized beauty products!  By full-sized I mean that it is the same size that they sell on their website.  No mini bottles or tiny sample packs come in this box! This month's box included Gold Dust Eyeliner Pencil, Posh/Peddle Eye Shadow Pigment, Masquerade Lipstick, Masquerade Eye Stickers and mystic quartz crystals.
Everything close up!
When I opened my box, I grabbed the eye shadow pigment first thing.  That exact color has been my favorite color since I was a little girl.  I knew I was going to love the eye shadow without even having to try it once.  At first, I was a little confused about the pigment part, what made it different than regular eye shadow.  I went onto the Starlooks website to read about it.  I found out that these can be mixed with other eye shadow, loose powder, foundation and lipstick.  You can ass as much or little color as you want to this is a great way to create the perfect shade for you.  I used the pigment over top another purple eye shadow to add a great simmer to my eyes.  I cannot express how much I love this!

I wasn't sure that I would have much use for a gold eyeliner.  However, when paired with the eye shadow pigment, it looks fantastic.  I have been using it in the corners on my eye to make my eyes looks sparkly.

The lipstick was the most surprising product is this box.  I never wear lipstick.  It always comes off too easily or refuses to come off.  I hate when I put on a lipstick to try the color, not like it, and it is impossible to get off.  The lipstick in my Starbox was the perfect combination of long lasting and easy to get off.

I think that this box(and every other month I have tried them) are well worth their $15 price tag.  They always include over $35 worth of products and a few freebies, like this month's eye stickers.  I am always impressed with my boxes and am sure I will continue being so!

I received the above products through Sublime Media Connection in exchange for an honest review. In no way was I asked to give a positive review.

Python Printable Games-Halloween Party Games~Review and Coupon!

This is the first year that my daughter is starting to understand holidays.  I love that sheis just discovering the meaning to all the different holiday traditions.  I tried to explain to her the concept of carving pumpkins last week.  She was really confused!  I found that making crafts and playing games really help her understand what is going on this time of year.  Earlier this year, I was able to try Python Printables Mother's Day games and was really pleased.  So when I was able to try their Halloween Printables, I knew my daughter would enjoy them!

The party pack has forty different printable games including:
Crafty Pumpkin Decorating Ideas, Pin The Head On The Monster, Werewolf Spot The Difference, Halloween Costume Word Search, Halloween Coloring Pages, Halloween Synonyms For Kids, Chew On This Candy Names Game, Halloween Scavenger Hunt, Halloween Memo Match For Kids, Halloween Crossword For Kids, Halloween Maze Game, Escape From The Garden Left-Right, Naughty Or Nice? Coloring Game, Gross Facts Trivia, Monster Mash-Up Charades, Teen Terrors Mad Libs, Chocolate Trivia, Spooky Halloween Word Search, Costume Party Paper Dolls, I LEFT It RIGHT There! Left-Right, Halloween Newlywed Game Questions, Cubicle Chaos Mad Libs, Spooky Slumber Party Mad Libs, Fangs For The Memories Vampire Trivia, Left In The Dark Left-Right, The Grim Reaper Word Search, Pirate Language Game, Horror Movies Crossword, Twisted Horror Movie Titles, Stephen King Books and Movies Trivia, Scary Synopsis Horror Movie Trivia, Who's The Bad Guy? Trivia, Halloween Picture Match Game, Trick Or Treat Trivia, Teen Twilight Crossword, Who Am I? Halloween, Name That Candy Bar Game, Gross Cooties Trivia, and Pumpkin Picture Match Puzzle!

There were quite a few games that were suitable for my toddler.  There are games for every age group but I was impressed that there were some for even the real little ones.  The paper dolls were a huge hit and since I downloaded them, I can print extras whenever she tears one.  This would be great for a school Halloween party or even a party at your home.  Since the entire party pack is only $19.95, it is a cheap way to entertain a group for a long period of time.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

{2012 Holiday Gift Guide} Kisspat Hair Color Chalk

One time in fourth grade, my friend and I decided that we wanted to dye our hair blue.  We went to a the store and bought this temporay blue hair dye that was kind of like a paste.  We stunk into her bathroom and began to dye our hair.  I remember looking in the mirror and thinking two things.  One was that my hair looked horrible.  It turned into weird blackish blue color and was obvious that it didn't turn out the way it should have.  My friend had blonde hair and her hair turned green.  The second thing I was thinking was that my mother was going to kill me.  We sat in her bathroom until it was time for me to go home.  As I walked into my house, I saw my mom's face.  She was not happy!  I had to wash my hair five times that night to get it out and ever since have stayed away from temporary hair color.  When I got the chance to try Kisspat's Hair Color Chalk, I was a little nervous about trying it.  But like so many other things from the 90's, I knew it had to better than what I used before.

The hair chalk feels way different than sidewalk chalk.  I was expecting this to be really messy to do but it really wasn't!  The chalk doesn't rub off on your hand as you are using it.  The chalks are used on damp hair so the only place the chalk sticks is on something wet.  I used the chalk on my hair before trying it on my daughter to make sure it really was easy to put on.  My hair is really dark brown so some of the colors didn't show up as well as I would have liked them to.  But the colors that I really like(pink, purple, and blue) all showed up relatively well.  Now my daughter has red hair and all the colors showed up well in her hair.  She was amazed as soon as she saw the results!  I really loved that the color easily washed out!  I didn't have any problems with the chalk staining my clothes or pillowcase but I would suggest not wearing your favorite sweater when rocking the hair chalk look.  This is great for dress up, Halloween or even just a fun night out.

Now this would be the point where I would normally show you how the hair chalked looked in our hair.  But alas, I am waiting(not so patiently) on a new phone battery.  All of my pictures of our great hair do's are on there.  But as soon as I get my battery, I will update this post with our pictures!

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
