Shutterfly 2013 Holiday Cards

Go to the Shutterfly home page.
I thought of the best Christmas Card idea ever - we wear matching red sweaters with a white collared shirt underneath and do an 80s pose.  I saw the pose on a movie and instantly thought it would be a good laugh instead of all the boring Christmas cards people usually send.  I always use Shutterfly for my photobooks and want there to check out their 2013 Christmas Collection.  Go there now!

Hello Save The Date/Christmas Card!
We all know how much I love the photobooks, so be sure to check them out -- great presents for Grandparents if they are filled with a years worth of photographs.  BEST PRESENT EVER!

Save these dogs!

Please Save our Dog Friends!
Help Save Phineas !!
Phineas, a lovable family lab is sentenced to die because he allegedly mouthed a child when she fell on top of the child he lives with and loves. No skin was broken!  Please sign the petition they created - they only need a few thousand more and with you, our readers, we can make it happen!!

You guys know how much I love my GSD, so lets try to help her! The city of Memphis wants to murder Mia who bit a child after the group of kids were tormenting one of Mia's puppy's. The court date is June 17 - "The order to show cause to dismiss and intervene was signed. And both will be heard along with the case on June 17 @ 3PM."   The kids were poking with sticks and pulling up the fence! Like her page!

Gus is a Stafford shire Terrier, and he is in the Animal Control at the Montgomery County Shelter, Houston, Texas.  He was roughly being put into a crate which he desperately feared. His foot got jammed in the bars and he freaked. When the foster person tried to free his foot, he attacked her, misplacing all his aggression on her. She then attacked him by tazering him, punched and kicked him.  If the lady had taken her time to crate train him properly and obviously was not a horrible person he would be fine!  Don't punish the dog from what the owner did!

"Chloe broke a steel tie out and she and her dog brother, Rocco escaped. Allegedly, the dogs killed a cat. Upon our initial court hearing, we were ordered by the court to plead guilty and forgo a hearing lest both dogs be executed. In essence, we were ordered to sacrifice one dog to save the other. We were not even allowed to speak. We were bullied, intimidated, and justice was not served. There was no physical evidence of the dogs taking part in the attack--no blood,  no scratches, nothing but the cat owners' word.  Even the cat was cremated before it could be tested for DNA.  Chloe does not deserve to die. Upon assessment by a behavioral specialist, both dogs were not found to be dangerous to humans. Even the Animal Control Officer has said that she doesn't believe them to be dangerous. An appeal has been filed, but a court date has not been set. Be sure to like their FB page too!!

My big GSD wants you to help!

These pups are being helped at this moment by The Lexus Project and the attorneys say signing the petitions and liking/sharing their page HELPS!   Social Media is a big element when considering decisions in the world today, so help! If you check out their page and website you can see all the dogs that desperately need help and assistance from us.

Help our local clinic!

Help save our local animal clinic Catnip Acres!  They provide services to animals in our region!  The local area vets have filed complaints against them regardless of the help they are doing for our area furbabies!  Find out more information on Facebook.

All you have to do is sign the petition at: http://signon.org/sign/please-save-catnip-acres

Help Catnip Acres stay in Greene County!!
A complaint was filed with Franklin Twp. Zoning Board, stating that Catnip Acres is in violation of zoning ordinances. November 27, 2012 at 5:30pm, a hearing will be held to determine if we can stay open. Catnip Acres has spayed and neutered over 10,000 cats in Greene County and there are many more that still need done. We are here to serve the pets of Greene County. We believe a show of concerned citizens showing up at the hearing will influence the decision. If anyone would like to speak on our behalf, please call Franklin Twp at 724-627-5473. If you are unable to attend the meeting please send a letter on our behalf to: Franklin Township, 569 Rolling Meadows Road, PO BOX 752, Waynesburg PA 15370. Thank you for all your support it means so much to all the cats we've helped and still need our help.

Puplight Giveaway!

Lots of us have day jobs so we don’t get the chance to take our furry friends to the park. Now with the Pup Light you can take Fido out for a run, even at night!

The Pup Light is a collar that contains three ultra-bright LED lights. LED lights are powerful, but since they use AAA batteries it is also a cheap alternative to more expensive dog lights. These lights not only make your pup more visible, it helps them see better too! With the adjustable elastic band you can make sure the light is facing in the correct direction & does not get in any one’s eyes. Bright lights ensure that you are seen by vehicles & will also scare away any wild animals in your path. Have a super shaggy buddy? Not to worry, this light was designed with fur in mind. The Pup Light has a built in fur guard to make sure the light is always shining visibly. Are you ready to talk a walk on the wild side? Then enter to win a Pup Light so you can see on your way there. Tammys-Tugs Dog Toy

My dog absolutely loved this toy!  Don't believe me? Look at the video when the postal man brought it to the door.  He instantly knew it was for him!

The toy is made from 100% fleece and is approximately 40 inches in length.  The length was perfect because my dog would play tug with my future in-laws Golden Retriever.  I think the artist who created this put some type of magic in it because the Goldren Retriever only plays with her old teddy bear - only!  When she was running away with the tug and taking it to her dog bed we were so surprised!  She wanted it all to herself :)  Now she finally has another toy to play with besides the raggedy bear.  Big Dog was so excited he wanted to just cry until I opened the box for him to see the prize!

Tammys-Tugs has many colors and will allow you to choose which ones you want.  I received the Red and Blue tug, which was wonderful!  On her actual website she offers more variety to pick from.  If I received the Double Tug the household would be in chaos and never settle down for bedtime! I am thinking that is what the dogs will get for Christmas this year!  :)

I received the tug extremely fast through USPS.  Today my mail man told me I needed to get a bigger mail box or stay off the internet!  He is beginning to know me all to well!  :) Tammys-Tugs utilizes either the USPS or UPS as their primary shipping method.  If you have questions about this product or what specific colors you can choose from just send Tammy an e-mail!  Trust me, this toy is worth every penny and I will buy the double tug too this Christmas for Big Dog!

SmartBones~Review and Giveaway

What are SmartBones?
  • SmartBones® is the next generation dog chew that has all the benefits of a rawhide chew – without the rawhide.
  • SmartBones are the first treats of their kind to be enhanced with vitamins and minerals.
  • SmartBones are safer for dogs than regular rawhide treats, which may cause intestinal blockages.
  • SmartBones are environmentally friendly, whereas a toxic chemical process is needed to create consumable rawhide for treats.
  • Nine out of 10 dogs prefer SmartBones over rawhide treats.

Still curious? Here is some more information from their website:

Why are SmartBones fortified with vitamins and minerals?
SmartBones chews are produced in a food-grade production facility where each ingredient is formulated and controlled.  During this process, SmartBones are fortified with vitamins and minerals to ensure dogs’ daily diets are nutritionally balanced when combined with eating dry kibble dog food. Rawhide and many other chews don’t include vitamins and minerals. In fact, even though rawhide analyzes as over 80% protein, the protein is of such poor quality that it is what is known as “unavailable protein” and has almost zero nutritive value for a dog’s body.
SmartBones are over 99% digestible – why is this important?
When a dog eats a treat or kibble, not all of the ingredients and nutrients are actually digested.  Even with some of the higher-quality dog foods on the market, a dog will digest only 85% of this food.  The creators of SmartBones wanted the chews to have a much higher percentage of digestibility, and strived to achieve 99.2% digestibility – a testament to the high quality of the ingredients used in SmartBones.

My Review:
We never give our dogs rawhide bones.  Dallas does not like them and would hide them all around the house(in couch, under blankets, etc.) so our other dog, Duke, couldn't eat them.  It turned into such a problem that we had banned them from our house.  When I found SmartBones I was hesitant but decided that it was worth a try.  I am so glad we tried these!  Both of our dogs LOVED them!  By loved I mean that they somehow managed to knock a huge box filled of chips, other food and SmartBones off the table and they didn't eat anything but the bones!  Luckily, we still had two bones left and I gave them to the dogs today.  They ate them within 20 minutes!  Duke has a lot of health problems and cannot eat certain kinds of dog food so I loved that they are 99.2% digestible.  Our next Petsmart trip will definitely include SmartBones!
