R.L. Stine

Do you remember R.L. Stine?  My favorite were the pick your own adventure ones where you have 3 choices and then move your character throughout the book.  I always took the wrong turn and was ate by dogs or turned into a Vampire.  Yes, I am that person.

Another flashback is to the Are You Afraid of the Dark?  show.  Well on the Hub they have R.L. Stine's show that is just like it - The Haunting Hour.   Love it!   You can look here for more information.  We had the chance to watch the show Grampires from The Haunting Hour.  The kids loved it!   It was a great show to watch, especially around Halloween.  With the "Frankenstorm" breathing down out necks and the end of the 9weeks, we decided to take a small break and watch Part 1.  Do you know you can do many activities with this?  Think 4Squares, writing prompts, active discussions, etc.   Check out the video below!

I was selected to be a MommyParties host as part of a promotional program with MomSelect. All opinions are my own.

Flashback Friday-7/20

Welcome to Summer Flashback! What better way to celebrate the lazy days of Summer than with an easy post to write on Fridays.

  1. Create your post and link it up anytime on Friday.
  2. Grab the linky code and share if you want to.
  3. Visit at least 3 other Summer Flashback posts and say hi!

This week the question is, What's your favorite childhood cartoon?

I used to LOVE Ren and Stimpy.  I can still sing all the lyrics to "Log" and I remember the board game that was always on the show, Don't Pee on the Electric Fence.  I have no idea why my parents let me watch it!
Doug was the show I used to watch everyday after school.  I loved Patty Maynonaise!
This last one is a random show called David the Gnome.  Some of my earliest memories are sitting on my Poppy's lap, watching this show.   I don't remember much about the actual show except it started with him riding the fox at the beginning.

Flashback Friday~7/6

This weeks' flashback is what was your favorite book growing up?

I must have read The Giving Tree a thousand times when I was little.  When I found out I was pregnant, it was one of the first things I bought for our daughter.  It has possibly the best moral of any book I have ever read.  If I would ever get another tattoo, it would get from this book.  FYI, Ryan Gosling has one!  Just one other reason we should meet(and make out). Sorry hubby!
“... and she loved a boy very, very much-- even more than she loved herself.”
I also read(and owned) every single Nancy Drew book growing up.  I eventually moved on to reading Agatha Christie and I believe this is one reason I love reading to this day.

Summer Flashback!

What's was your favorite childhood food/snack?

I knew it was summertime when I could go to Kennywood and get some Dippin' Dots!

I also loved this drink called Surge.  I wasn't allowed to drink to so I would chug it all before I got home from walking to the store!

I was glued to the TV during TGIF!!

I also loved The Mystery Files of Shelby Woo.  I think it was only on for one season but it started my love of mysteries!
