PottyCover~Review&GA~

PottyCover is a disposable toilet seat cover for children that covers the sides and the front of the toilet, to keep away germs at public rest-rooms.  It is made of non-woven fabric coated with a layer of plastic, creating a waterproof barrier between the toilet and the child. This product has the largest coverage of all seat covers on the market and for added convenience, each seat cover is individually packaged in a small, easy to open bag that makes it super easy to always keep one or two in a purse or a back pocket.
Using a public rest-room with a young child could be very stressful, but with PottyCovers the whole family can feel safe knowing that even at the filthiest bathrooms they will be protected from germs. We designed this product for kids, but it has become a must-have travel item for many of our adult customers.

I See Me! Personalized Children's Books~Review, Coupons and Giveaway!

My niece Ava has just about every toy she could possibly wish for.  Now that she is almost six, she is really into whatever fad toy is around that month.  The problem with that is now her room is filled with toys that she only played for a few months, if that.  Her birthday is coming up so I was really trying to find something different to give her.  When I saw the I See Me! website, I knew I had a winner.  She is just learning to read and I know that seeing her name is print would be really cool for her.  I chose the My Very Happy Birthday book for Ava's 6th birthday.  When ordering all you have to do is add the child's name, age, and gender.  Then you get to pick from many premade dedications and say who the book is from and you're done!  I was worried about the dedication but there were a lot to choose from so it was easy to find the perfect one for her.  When I received her book, I was really surprised with the quality!  It was made excellently and the colors were very bright.  I am planning on buying one for my daughter for her birthday.  This is the kind of book that you would keep forever as a keepsake.  You can take the Virtual Book Tour at ISeeMe.com! for most of the books so you can see the quality for yourself before buying.  You will not be disappointed!  Here are a few other titles that would make great gifts:

Anytime Costumes~Review

Anyone who knows my daughter knows that she truly thinks that she is a princess.  Everything she wears is "princess"; she has princess socks, princess pants and princess shirts!  She has recently become obsessed with Cinderella.  Or as she says "Cinderbella".  I have been looking for a good quality Cinderella costume to add to her growing princess dress collection.

I was really excited to get the chance to review Anytime Costumes.  Anytimes Costumes is one the the largest, most popular costume websites on the internet.  What makes them so special?  They have a huge selection of costumes(in all sizes) year round!  You don't have to wait until Halloween to satisfy all your costume needs.
When I began looking for a costume for Boo, I was really pleased with all the choices.  I knew that I wanted to get her a Cinderella dress but couldn't help looking at all the other Disney Princess dresses.  They literally have every Princess and sometimes different versions of each Princess.  I also really liked that there is a wide price range too.  I wouldn't want to buy a  real expensive costume for my daughter just to play in but am willing to pay a little more for a Halloween costume.  When I received her dress I was impressed with the quality.  I have previously bought her costumes that I could rip with little effort.  This dress will last us a long time! I ordered one size bigger than her normal size and it fit her perfectly.  I would suggest doing the same!  Boo wore it for an entire day last week but I forgot to take a picture.  I then made the mistake of putting it on "Big Minnie" so they could be princesses together.  Now, my daughter refuses to let me take it off of her!  Hence, the picture above is of Minnie, not Boo.

Right now, they are offering a great coupon!  You can get 15% off all costumes over $25 by using the coupon code "SPRING".

Have Eczema? Try Grahams Nature Alternatives!

Within a week of having my daughter, I noticed she had these dry patches on her belly.  I kept putting her baby lotion on her multiple times a day but the patches kept coming back.  I eventually asked her doctor who basically told me not to worry about it.  But as a mother, I worried.  Then I set out on a quest for a product that would work for longer than a day.  I found that most baby lotions have a lot of scent in them which dries out the skin.  Until recently, I have not found a product that eliminates her dry patches.  What was this product? Grahams Natural Kids Eczema Cream by Grahams Natural Alternatives!  It seems like the owner had a similar(but more severe) problem finding a quality for his son.  Here's Geoff Graham's story:

Make lunch easier with Funbites!

My daughter loves peanut butter sandwiches.  She eats a half one almost every day for lunch.  However, cutting up the sandwich is a huge mess and her lunch always looks like she made it herself.  I have seen Funbites before and was excited to get to try it myself!  What are Funbites?  It is the first kitchen tool that cuts anything into bite-sized pieces!

FeverAll~Review & GA~

As a mom, I’m sure you’ve been there - it’s the middle of the night - sick baby wailing with a fever and you can’t get her to calm down to take a full dose of liquid acetaminophen. Your frustration compounds the situation because all you want to do is help her to feel better. If you had FeverAll® Acetaminophen Suppositories in your medicine cabinet, this situation might play out a bit smoother and your baby would receive the full dose of acetaminophen that she needs to fight fever.

FeverAll® is the top national brand of acetaminophen in suppository form. Parents have relied on its accuracy and ease-of-use for more than 30 years.   Did I just say 30 years? Holy cow that is a long time! It obviously has to be trusted then :)    OK,  lets get to the bottom of this (pun intended).  This is a suppository which means it goes up the bum.  When everything and I do mean EVERYTHING comes out the front it creates a hair pulling moment.  With this medicine it is easy to give and will stay there to help reduce fevers and whatever else the little one needs!

The Juppy~Review & Giveaway~

Notice the super soft lining! :)
21,000 Injuries Annually are Related to Baby Walkers [with wheels]
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission

  1. Teaches baby balance and builds confidence.
  2. Reduces the chance of accident and injuries.
  3. The only baby walker that fits in a purse!
Easy Zip!
Our personalized Juppy!
This handy invention is amazing!  At first I was thinking this was a littler strange because who wants to lean over the entire time and hold onto little straps while your child tries to walk?  Well let me tell you it is enlightening to use! You adjust the straps so it is comfortable for you to hold so you are not leaning over, hurting your back or your child's arms!  Just think of someone  holding your hands and putting them over your head for many minutes - it would hurt and make your arms sore!  Who wants to walk after that?  Not me if I was a baby!  But if you used The Juppy it is a fun activity to personally help your child learn to walk.  The Juppy is training wheels for walking! :)

If you thought this was pretty neat and want to  get your own just visit The Juppy online to order!  They offer personalization!  We got ours with Morris embroidered on it.  Super cute, don't you think?   Well if you do then enter below to get your own :)

Multiply and Divide with Sticks and Steps~Review~

Multiply and Divide with Sticks and Steps

Teach This Easy Method in Just 5 Minutes

Author: Maureen Stearns, B.A., M.S.
96 pages, Trade paperback, line illustrations throughout, For ages 5 and up, 8.25 x 11
ISBN: 978-0-9726908-5-0 $14.95
Pub Date: January 1st, 2011
Published by: Enrichment Books
Distributed by: Available at bookstores, Amazon and online.

As a Special Education teacher I am often faced with math difficulties, in both the students and parents.  I implement a home letter to inform the parents what is going on in the classroom and a bit of review on topics that we will come across in case they (the parent) need help! Trust me, this is important!  If you have a little one who is just starting school ask the teacher for a parent letter - especially if the district is using a set math curriculum.

Sticks and Steps is a great book to have in the classroom and to have as a parent!  I always implement Math Facts, which allows me as a Special Education teacher to track the students progress with addition/subtraction and multiplication/division.  You would be surprised how many student do not  understand multiplication when they encounter it in school, even HS students!  It is scary at first for a teacher, but for me it is a beginning.  It allows me to set my own goal for that student - "By the end of the 9weeks I want this student to be able to multiply up to the 9X9 with 90% proficiency."   By the way, that could also be used for Progress Monitoring or for an IEP goal/objective :)

First I need to say this book would be great for a Bell Ringer.  A Bell Ringer is the beginning 5 minutes of class to get the 'Brain in Motion' and begin to learn.  It would be extremely easy to photocopy onto overheads to use, which I highly recommend.  With some Special Education students it may be appropriate to actually copy a page for them to see in front of them and on the overhead - it often does help!

The supplementary curriculum in this book is great!  It easily allows one to follow along and try their own multiplication.  With sticks and steps it is easy to understand what the Sticks and Steps are.  I would have loved it the Sticks and Steps were different colors, not just light grey and black.  If you do copy on overheads you can use your colored markers to do this!   It is a little longer to do the sticks and step method in division, but once the student/child learns the process and reasoning behind it, they are set.  I loved how you can do LCM (Least Common Multiple)!  When I taught this last year I wish I had this idea.

Without a doubt I would recommend this to any teacher or parent.   The final words of advice from me for teaching multiplication and division are 'Always give encouragement!'

Parenting Flashcards from Knock Knock~Review and Giveaway

I have so many friends having babies this year!  I was looking for a funny baby shower gift when I stumbled upon Knock Knock.  What is Knock Knock?

Baby Mama Saver~Review & GA~

Have you ever seen a product and say,
"Why did I not think of that?"  Well this is it!

The Baby Mama Saver is such a great gift for baby showers, welcome home parties, or for birthdays! We absolutely loved that it included EVERYTHING you need, even for emergencies.  A mom is 100% guaranteed to use everything in this pouch, so it is not a wasted gift.  Want to know something that is even better? They have refills as well!   I am going to guarantee that the next friend who has a baby is going to get one of these for her Meet the Baby! If you are wondering what a "Meet the Baby" really is, well I made it up because that is when all my friends can get together, drink tons of wine, and realize we are getting old.  So, "Meet the Baby" is a much nicer way to describe it :)  After the baby is all grown and you realize you may not need the Baby Mama Saver, well you have a super cute bag for your hair ties/bobby pins/money/jewelry when you travel and other great stuff!

The Baby Mama Saver includes the following in the amazing little package:
For Baby:
  • Diaper Rash Cream – You and baby will both regret forgetting this at home. No one likes a sore tushy.
  • Baby Wipes – Ever change a diaper without one of these? . . . it isn’t pretty.
  • Scented Trash Bag – For when there is no appropriate place to toss that stinky diaper, and you have no choice but to take it along.
  • Kids Hand Sanitizer – Go ahead, let them play in the dirt, pick their friends nose, and suck on their thumb; just make sure to sanitize!
  • Boogy Wipes – Remember that kid on the playground who had a huge slimy booger resting on his top lip? (Why didn’t his mom wipe that off for him?) Don’t let your baby be the booger buddy.
  • Bib – When feeding baby with the “airplane technique” (we all know it), a bib can come in handy, just in case it’s a bumpy ride.
  • Spot Remover – The time will come when you’ll show up to a special occasion to find a fresh spit-up stain right on baby’s clean, pressed shirt (or yours). Worry no more with this on-the-go stain remover!
  • Sunscreen – Once upon a time, tan skin was all that mattered. Now you are paying for those sunscreen-less hours in the sun, with wrinkles, and sunspots, and chemical peels, oh my! Here’s your second chance: live vicariously through your baby, protecting their flawless skin from those risky rays that have done you wrong!
  • Antibiotic Ointment – We all know that kissing it makes it better, but a little antibiotic ointment might help too.
  • Bandage – Bandage that boo boo to keep the cries in and the germs out!
For Mama:
  • Lip Balm – You probably can’t resist kissing those soft cheeks. Whether they are on baby’s face or tush, make sure your lips don’t scratch that baby smooth skin.
  • Hair Tie – To keep your locks out of baby’s food, face, and dirty diaper.

Enjoy Life Foods-Gluten and Allergen free!

So by now most of you know that Trista can't eat gluten.  That may not sound like a huge deal, but after spending the afternoon at a food festival I can tell you firsthand that she has a really limited amount of food she can safely eat.  No bread, no crackers, no cookies, no fun!  I have also noticed how many kids these days have food allergies.  My niece actually did a little dance when the kid that was allergic to peanuts moved away.  (On a side note, why are kids allergic to so many things these days?  Growing up there might have been one kid allergic to milk in my class but that was it.  I need to research that.)  Know someone that can't have certain foods due to gluten or allergies?  You need to introduce them to Enjoy Life Foods!
Enjoy Life products also contain no:
  •  Artificial ingredients
  •  Trans fats
  •  Genetically Modified (GMO) ingredients

We were lucky enough to try their new Double Chocolate Crunch Granola and Mega Chunk Chocolate for Baking.  So freaking good!  I have been eating the granola straight out of the bag(I know, classy right?).  I thought that maybe the chocolate would have an odd taste because it's dairy free.  Not so!  It tastes completely normal, with no odd aftertaste.   Now I know that the Mega Chunk Chocolate is meant for baking, but it was the perfect choice for potty training rewards!  I have been giving my daughter a few pieces every time she uses the potty.  She loves it!  What's the best part of all our Enjoy Life products?  Trista can eat them too!

Want to learn more?  Check out their website, Facebook and Twitter pages.

We each received free products in order to conduct our review.  All our opinions are our own and not influenced by any sort of compensation.

Copy-Kids DVD

Copy-Kids is a DVD series designed to get very young children excited about eating fruits and vegetables.  It features kids having such a good time eating fruits and veggies, that when children watch it they want to join in.  Featuring well-known pediatrician, Dr. Jay Gordon, this product is a positive approach in the quest to get children eating healthy from the start.

The DVD is separated into different fruits and vegetables on the main menu: Bell Peppers, Cucumbers, Carrots, Avocado, Tomatoes, Broccoli, Oranges, Bananas, Raspberries, Strawberries, Apples & Blueberries.

From a teachers perspective this is especially made for young children.   When you are introducing various food to children you should always pay attention to what age.  This website, Kids Organics breaks it down into an easy chart for parents and relatives to view.  It incorporates the cop-cat idea that children do, both inside and outside the classroom.  As an adult I thought this was silly, but I was forced to eat my fruits and veggies when I was a little kid.  I do love them, especially Garlic!  When I was younger they always made fun of me and called me a Polish Baby because my Polish Grandma always had garlic in food and it seeped out of my pores.   :)  People still picked me up even with the smell! If they wanted to put another addition out, older children would be more interested in it if there was a catchy tune that they could sing-a-long to.  I would like that as well... :)

From a parents perspective this seemed like a good fit for children.  I think it helps when the child is in the copy-cat stage.  It states to Age 5 on the DVD box, but older children may not like watching it.  However, any young child will instantly want to join in as others have stated.  I wish there was a lot of additional cartoon characters besides the little blue parrot or for it to appear more often.  Another wonderful thing to include would be music or cartoon vegetable people!

Overall this is a great DVD to pop in while eating snacks, especially the fruit or vegetable that you want to introduce.  We discovered Boos favorites were Peppers and Tomatoes, but being a little Italian, those were a given!
Running time: 115 mins
Price: $19.95

Cuties Juices~Review

We recently got to try Cuties Juice from Califia Farms.  What makes Cuties Juice special? It is all natural juice with no added sugar and 150% daily intake on Vitamin C.  It also contains protein, healthy omegas, and antioxidants. Best part?  They taste great! Sweet but not too sweet. They all were a perfect blend!  I got to try the following kinds of juices:

Tangerine, Orange, and Mango Juice
Tangerine, Orange, and Pineapple Juice
GoGo Green- Tangerine and Kiwi Smoothie
Protein Power- Tangerine and Mango Smoothie
Blue Blaster- Tangerine and Blueberry Smoothie
Rockin' Red- Tangerine and Strawberry Smoothie
Island Cuties- Tangerine and Pineapple Smoothie
Dreamsicle- Tangerine Surprise Smoothie

I know that these are designed for kids but everyone in our family loved them.  My husband actually looked up where to buy Cuties near us.  We were afraid we wouldn't be able to find them at our locally owned, small grocery store.  Luckily, Walmart just started carrying them this month!  We really liked all the the juices and smoothies; there wasn't one we wouldn'y buy.  I really liked Protein Power for Boo because she doesn't eat meat.  For some reason, she has never liked meat and refuses to eat it.  GoGo Green and Blue Blaster were like no other juice I have ever had.  Different and very tasty!  I would also like to try Califia Farms other products, Pure Almondmilk and Calico, 100% Pure Coconut Water.

You can read more on their website, Facebook or Twitter pages.
